Spring Pinwheels

--Julia Posts --
This was a fast and fun little quilt to make.

I got the idea from Jackie's tutorial. First you piece together blocks to make a top and add a border to it.
c25
Then make a template of a small square with the off centered X in it. You have to be sure that when laying the X on the lines that you don't cut into the next block.
c24
After I've cut out the blocks with the template the first quilt looks like Swiss cheese.  If you are really thrifty you may want to cut smaller blocks from what's left to use in the border.
c23
Keeping the small squares in order sew them together to make a smaller quilt with pinwheels.

Add some borders, quilt it, and bind it, and ta-dah! I've made Spring Pinwheels in a simple fast way!

Scappy Quilt

This is Nancy who took my Scrappy Baskets class.  She through me for a loop in class.  She wanted to use her green and pink scraps in her stash. I was fine with this idea but then she suggested a navy background....  I wasn't to sure about that, but the more we talked about it and laid out her fabrics and chatted, the idea started to come alive and the sparkle began to grow.  The quilt turned out lovely and is very striking.  The flash on the camera changed the brightness of the fabrics.

Fun, Fun, Fun

-- Polly Posts --
A couple weeks ago I got this book on making wacky fun letters and decided to give it a try.

What a joy pulling the fabrics together for this fun quilt.

I almost feel guilty having so much fun!

Side Tracked

--Julia posts--

This small art quilt came about because I got side tracked making another quilt.

I was working on this project inspired by Kaffe Fassett.

In the process of trimming my blocks I ended up with this pile of scraps and just couldn't make myself throw them away.

Now I need to finish my original project.
